Freelance professional VISA and elective residence VISA
If you want to work in Italy as a freelance professional, you canapplyfor a freelance professional Visa issued by the Italian Embassy in your country of residence.
The requirements to obtain Visa for freelance professional are:
- security clearance at the entrance to the local police department in Italy presenting a copy of the documentation necessary to obtain Visa;
- statement concerning the compliance of reasons militate against the granting of authorization, or professional accreditation, issued by the authorized ministry;
- declaration as to the parameters of reference issued by the Chamber of Commerce or authorized professional (minimum € 4.962,36);
- demonstration of an annual income that amount higher than the minimum required by law for exemption from participation in health spending (€ 8,400). The availability of income can also be proven by a bank guarantee or surety policy;
- availability of suitable housing.
Alternatively, if you do not intend to practice your profession in Italy, you can appliyfor elective residence Visa.
The requirements to obtain elective residency Visa in Italy are the following:
- filling a form to send to the Italian Consulate of the country of residence and all necessary accompanying documentation such as a copy of the applicant’s passport, a document providing evidence that the applicant generates the income required to live in Italy and a document providing proof that the applicant has secured dwelling in Italy;
- if the submitted documents comply with requirements set by the applicable regulations, the Italian Consulate will provide the applicant with an “Entry Visa” that allows him to enter Italy and apply for the elective residency visa;
- the application for the Elective Residency Visa must be filed within 90 days from the issuance of the entry visa. This application is submitted to the Central Police Office (the competent office is located at the Italian city where the applicant has decided to take up the elective residency).
